JAAP SELECTS NEW
ALL-ISLAND ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONAL AND BOSS OF THE YEAR
On Sunday, 2011 April 03, the All-Island Administrative Professional and All-Island Boss of the Year were selected at a Brunch held at Golf View Hotel, 5 ½ Caledonia Avenue, Mandeville, Manchester. Guest Speaker was Mrs. Vinnette Notice, All Island Boss Of The Year 2009 and Relationship Manager, Mandeville Hub, RBTT Jamaica Limited.
This event is a precursor to the celebration of Administrative Professionals Week during the week of 2011 April 24-30 highlighting the theme, “Administrative Professionals – Equipped for the Task … Ready to Achieve". Seven (7) participants representing four (4) parishes entered this prestigious competition.
The administrative professionals spoke impromptu for three minutes on:
"You are addressing a group of students at your alma mater. How and why would you encourage them to join JAAP?"
Mrs. Joyce Malcolm Hewitt, ASc., Administrative Assistant employed to Northern Caribbean University emerged winner.
The bosses were also asked to speak impromptu for five minutes on the topic:
"The Caribbean Court of Justice should be Jamaica's final Court of Appeal. Discuss?"
Ms. Elaine Oxamendi Vicet, Interim Chair for the Department of Communication Studies at Northern Caribbean University in Manchester, emerged winner.
Runners-up were Mrs. Lisa Simone Bell, Managing Director – National Export-Import Bank of Jamaica, Kingston and Miss Natalie Boreland, CPS, administrative assistant to Mr. Isaac Gordon, Chief Compliance Officer/Group Internal Auditor at Sunset Resort Group.
