HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER

QUALIFICATIONS

1.      Unquestionable character and integrity
2.      Secretarial training at a recognized business college
3.      At least two years’ secretarial experience
4.      Active employment as a Secretary or Administrative Professional at the time of Application

TO QUALIFY FOR MEMBERSHIP, APPLICANTS MUST SATISFY THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

Full Membership

  • Satisfy 1 – 4 above
  • Have attained the CPS Rating, or a first degree or diploma in Management Studies

Associate Membership

  • Satisfy 1 – 4 above
  • Be pursuing the CPS Programme, first Degree or Diploma in Management Studies

Provisional Membership

  • Satisfy 1- 4 above

Honorary Member

An Honorary Members shall be a person who has rendered some special service to this organization or to the Secretarial profession.

Life Member

A Life Member shall be a person who has actively served in the Association for at least ten years and at various levels from Chapter status to National President, and who shall ultimately
serve as Resource personnel within the Association.   

Recognizing the Secretary and Administrative Professional's position of trust, we resolve in all of our activities to be guided by the highest ideals for which the Jamaica Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professionals stands; to establish, practice and promote professionals standards, and to be ethical and understanding in all of our business associations.

We resolve to promote the interest of the business in which we are employed; to exemplify loyalty and conscientiousness at all times, and to maintain dignity and poise under all circumstances.

We further resolve to share knowledge; to encourage ambition and inspire hope, and to sustain faith, knowing that the eternal laws of God are the ultimate laws under which we may truly succeed.
