PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

In October 2004 the members of JASAP elected a new executive to guide the Association through another Chapter, and moreso another year.

On behalf of the 2004/05 National Executive, I take this opportunity to express gratitude to our members island wide for the confidence displayed in us at our Annual General Meeting. We the members of the Executive Committee pledge our support and guidance in uniting our members for the further development and improvement of our Association.

The year 2004 is now history, and as we move forward in 2005, let us do so with pride, and a desire to set an example to do the best job possible, not only in our personal and professional development, but also in our commitment and loyalty to the Association. By so doing, we will be establishing standards of performance second to none.

We all have the ability to make things happen if we commit ourselves to a continuous improvement mode. There will be rough and difficult times in the process, however, if we listen to each other and work together, we will enjoy the satisfaction of performing as a cohesive team.

A very productive 2005 to you all!

Doreen James, J.P.

National President

 HONEST TALK CREATES TRUST

Build a straight-talk reputation by responding to requests with “I” statements that won’t offend others but will clearly show where you stand on these matters:-

Integrity -  “I believe that will violate what I consider to be the right thing to do.”

Consideration -   I can’t commit to that because I need time to look at other choices.”

Equity -   “I see this as not being fair to all involved.”

Negotiation  -    I’d like us to review the other choices available to me in this matter.”

Diplomacy  - "I want you to understand that I feel I must watch out for the best interest of everyone this will affect"

Take time for work, it is the price of success
Take time to think, it is the source of power.
Take time to play, it is the secret of youth.
Take time to read, it is the foundation of wisdom.
Take time to be friendly, it is the road to happiness.
Take time to dream, it’s hitching your wagon to a star.
Take time to love, it is the highest joy of life.
Take time to laugh, it is the music of the soul.
